JMI is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of all who use our website and our services in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. (GDPR)

 The data we collect is provided by you if you use our website enquiry form or our services.

 However, we do receive recommendations from existing customers and from suppliers you may have contacted directly.

 If you enquire via our website contact form or by telephone we collect your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and postcode. We collect this information so that we can respond to your query as comprehensively as possible. The postcode helps to ensure we cover that area.

 If you choose to use our services and become a customer of ours we will collect additional data like your address.

 We do not share your details with third parties unless we need to for contractual purposes. For example, we need to pass on the address for a site delivery or to other contractors we need to complete your project. Also registering Installation details with FENSA is a statutory requirement.

 If we take payment over the telephone, we use a secure payment system, and do not store your card details and shred the details once the transaction has been successful.

Your data is stored in our database and we have hard copies of all details of your installation.

We hold your information for 15 years, 7 years for accounting purposes, 10 for the purpose of your guarantee the additional 5 years so we have all the information about your product if we need to replace anything or if you want to match any of the items. We don’t contact you for marketing purposes. After this date, we will delete the information. If you enquire via the website or by phone we hold your details for 24 months.

We take a proactive approach to our user privacy and ensure the necessary steps are taken to protect the privacy of our users. Our website complies with all the UK national laws and requirements for user privacy and we use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate for additional encryption of data. The actions we take to minimise security breaches of data stored on our computers and laptops include using complicated passwords and anti-virus software and being vigilant in opening links/files from unknown sources. Our files are kept in filing cabinets on our premises.

We have taken all the possible steps to ensure the design and hosting company are aware of, and meet the requirements of GDPR and data law and do all they can to protect and secure our websites and the information we hold. While we do take all applicable technical and organisational measures to safeguard your data and only use secure servers, it is impossible for us to secure the whole internet entirely. As a user, it is your responsibility to acknowledge this and to understand that personal details you give to us by your own choice across the internet are transferred at your own risk.

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold for you free of charge and ask for your information to be amended or removed. To do so please e-mail or write to us. We will respond to you within 30 days providing you provide us with proof of identity.

Cookies

• Our website uses a cookie control system that allows the user, on their first visit, to allow or disallow the use of non-essential cookies on their computer/device. Pixels

• As part of our marketing/advertising strategy, we have installed ‘Facebook Pixels’.
• When someone visits our website and takes an action (for example, clicking on a page or contacting us), the Facebook pixel is triggered and reports this action. This way, we’ll know when a customer took action after seeing one of our Facebook ads. We will then be able to reach this customer again by using a Custom Audience.
• The ultimate aim is that as we see more website activity from our ads, Facebook gets better at delivering your ads to people who are more likely to take certain actions. This is called conversion optimisation.
• It also means that our visitors should begin to receive more targeted and relevant marketing information as the pixels remember what you are most interested in or have looked at before.

What about our social media platforms?

Our social media engagement is subject to the customs and privacy policies of each social media platform. Social media may have their own tracking cookies in place.

While we take great care to ensure the security and safety of our follower’s personal information it is up to the individual to use the platforms with due care and caution in regard to their own privacy and personal details. 

JMI Windows will never ask for personal or sensitive information through social media platforms and encourage users wishing to discuss sensitive details to contact them through primary communication channels such as telephone or email.

If we use social sharing buttons which help share web content directly from web pages to the social media platform in question, users do so at their own discretion. By default, some social media platforms shorten lengthy URL’s (web addresses) so that they look like this; http://bit.ly/wkDTpk18. These shortened URL’s can be prone to spam and hacking. Adventure Graphics cannot take any liability for damages/implications caused by visiting any shortened links
